The Billy Wright Inquiry - Postponement of the resumption of oral hearings at Banbridge Court House

The Billy Wright Inquiry was scheduled to recommence oral hearings at Banbridge Court House on Monday 10 September.

Due to difficulties with the gathering and processing of evidence (the obtaining of witness statements, and the submission, consideration and redaction of additional material), the extra work caused by the Judicial Review brought over the Summer and the significant number of applications for anonymity and screening that the Inquiry Panel now has to consider, the Chairman, Lord MacLean, has decided that the Inquiry will not be in a position to resume its oral hearings as scheduled.

The Inquiry Panel is meeting next week and the Inquiry hopes to be in a position to provide information regarding the resumption of the Inquiry's oral hearings thereafter.
