Notice of Determination by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland to the Inquiry Chairman under section 40(4) of the Inquiries Act 2005

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has today issued a notice of determination to the Chairman of the Billy Wright Inquiry under Section 40(4) of the Inquiries Act 2005 imposing conditions andor qualifications upon the level of fees that can be paid to funded legal representatives.

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland consulted the Inquiry Chairman, Lord MacLean, regarding this matter.

Exercising this power is a matter entirely for the Secretary of State and what the Secretary of State has determined does not reflect the opinion of Lord MacLean.
